"The possibility of using hardware and software systems for photo and video recording and video analytics is also being studied. As a result of these and other measures, we see that by the end of the year, the number of crimes committed by previously convicted persons decreased by 17%," Kolokoltsev said.

The Minister drew attention to the fact that video surveillance equipment in 2024 helped to detain 4,500 suspects. Law enforcement officers have made extensive use of the capabilities provided by intelligent facial recognition systems.

Kolokoltsev said that during the year, Interior Ministry officers detained 38,000 suspects and accused who were hiding from the bodies of inquiry, investigation or trial, and also found out where about 6,000 missing people were.
