Russians named the main criteria for a successful career


High earnings (71%) and professionalism (64%) are also considered very important. 44% of the respondents appreciate a balanced life that allows them to develop and devote time to their family. The achievement of leadership positions (25%) and recognition by society (19%) are less important. Slightly fewer people value the social benefits of work (16%) and the demonstration of success through material benefits (11%).
The most common obstacles to a successful career are fear of change (47%), age restrictions (43%), and lack of necessary connections (40%). In addition, 37% of respondents are not ready to take responsibility, and 35% lack discipline. At the same time, 32% of respondents have communication problems (32%), and 31% indicate an inability to plan time and effort (31%).
Lack of initiative (30%) and clear goals (28%) also hinder professional growth. Poor relations with management (25%) and unwillingness to pursue career advancement (22%) occupy less significant positions. Career success is also influenced by the need to combine work with family care (14%).
At the same time, only 49% of Russians surveyed said that they consider themselves successful in their careers. Men stated this more often (51%) than women (48%).
Earlier, on January 15, it was reported that one in three Russians surveyed (28%) planned to change his place of work in 2025. This was mentioned in the results of the study of the Russian School of Management. Among the most common reasons for such a decision are low wages (47% of respondents answered this way), lack of opportunities for professional growth (45%), and lack of career prospects (39%).
