British Prime Minister Keir Starmer intends to send troops to Ukraine to apply the fifth article of the NATO Charter. This was reported on March 4 by the magazine The National Interest (NI).

According to the article, in the event of a third—party armed attack on a country belonging to the North Atlantic Alliance, other NATO member states should come to the rescue. Thus, an attack on one country will be regarded as an attack on all.

"The obvious plan is to force the Russians to launch several strikes against the British military or equipment and justify London's calls for the use of the fifth article," the article says.

It is noted that Starmer is also aware of the difficulties that the British army will face on the territory of Ukraine against the background of an increase in defense budgets. According to NI, the Prime Minister will attempt to involve in the conflict USA.

Marine Le Pen, leader of the right-wing National Unification faction in the French parliament, on March 3 called madness the idea of sending the French military to Ukraine. She stressed that the participation of French troops is possible only within the framework of a peacekeeping mission under the auspices of the United Nations.

Polish Prime Minister Donald Tusk on February 26, including ruled out the participation of the Polish army in a possible peacekeeping mission in Ukraine. Then he stressed that Warsaw intends to use frozen Russian assets again to help Kiev.
