The West, by imposing anti-Russian sanctions in the flower sector, wanted to deprive Russian women of flowers, but it failed. This was announced on March 5 by Russian Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin.

"They wanted to deprive our women of flowers with Western sanctions, they failed to do this," Mishustin said during a conversation with employees of the Podosinki greenhouse complex.

The Prime Minister noted that the sanctions pressure exerted, including on such an industry as floriculture, initially shocked everyone, since a lot of flowers were bought earlier. However, according to him, this always makes it possible to increase our own production.

"We have doubled our own flower production since the sanctions were imposed," the Prime Minister said.

Last November, the President of Russia Vladimir Putin said that the volume of Western anti-Russian sanctions are unprecedented from a historical point of view, but the restrictions did not deal the Russian Federation a "crushing blow from which it will not be able to recover." The Head of State stressed that no sanctions will change the fact that the world really needs Russia.
