The second season of "Roni, the Robber's Daughter" will be shown in Russia for the first time

The viju+ TV channel package has prepared an exclusive screening of the second season of "Roni, the robber's Daughter" for viewers. This series not only won the love of an international audience, but also received high critical acclaim. The second season starts on March 7 on the viju streaming service, and on March 17 it will be shown on viju+ Serial for the first time on television. New episodes will be released on weekdays at 6:30 p.m.

The plot of "Roni, the Robber's Daughter" is based on the novel of the same name by Astrid Lindgren. This Swedish writer has given the world many iconic book characters, without whom it is impossible to imagine childhood. The girl Roni has become one of the bravest and brightest characters. She is the daughter of a chieftain and the only child in a band of robbers. One day, she goes to explore a magical forest and meets a boy the same age there. It turned out that this bully came from an enemy bandit clan. At first, the children were wary of each other, but soon they secretly became friends.

The first season consists of six episodes and immerses viewers into the fantasy world. Here we will meet Roni, find out the true reasons for the enmity between the bandits, and go to the magical forest. The second season will continue the story from the place where the plot suddenly ended. In the new episodes, Roni and Birku face challenges that will test their friendship and force them to face the most difficult choice. Throughout the series, various mythical creatures await viewers. The main characters of the bestiary are droods – half birds, half women. The characters were worked out so thoroughly that they brought the film a prestigious award.

The actress for the role of Roni was searched all over Sweden. Of the 4,000 applicants, the choice fell on the young Kerstin Linden, who has already starred in two projects. Costume designers made every effort to create the image of the robber's daughter. Their efforts were crowned with success: the serial Roni outwardly became very similar to the book version. Jack Bergenholz Henriksson appeared in front of the audience in the role of Birk. For him, this work was a bright film debut, he had previously shone on the theater stage.

In front of screenwriter Hans Rosenfeldt ("The Bridge") and director Lisa James-Larsson ("Victoria") The task was to turn a short fairy tale into a 12-episode costume drama. To do this, they had to significantly expand the plot: add new characters, think over locations and carefully work out the outline of events. So the children's story turned into a spectacular fantasy.

In February 2025, the series "Roni, the Robber's Daughter" became one of the winners of the VES Awards, which is presented by the Society of Visual Effects Specialists. The film won in the nomination "Outstanding Animated Character in an episode, advertisement or a real-time project."

The world of Astrid Lindgren will not leave anyone indifferent, and the series will make you think about serious issues far beyond the scope of a children's fairy tale.
