The Bor Glass Factory will produce glasses for the Russian Atom electric car. This was reported in a press release received by Izvestia on March 5.

"The windscreen of the Atom electric vehicle has a technological feature that has not previously been used in the domestic automotive industry," said Alexandra Tkacheva, glass development coordinator for the Atom electric vehicle.

Its special feature is the presence of a special wedge—shaped PVB film, which allows information to be projected onto the glass. The speed of the Atom, navigation, application interfaces and other important notifications will be displayed in the driver's field of view.

The windshield of the Atom is equipped with full electric heating, including the resting area of the wipers. The rear and side windows are single—layer, tempered, and in some versions will be tinted, with a light transmittance of 26%.

Earlier, on January 28, the Kama company showed the first pre-production prototypes of the Atom electric car. These are full-fledged cars with working functionality, and their design fully corresponds to the future production version. The pre-production samples were assembled by the project team outside the assembly line using a non-serial technological process and are intended for physical testing in laboratories, landfills and public roads.
