Lavrov called the UN Charter a criterion of equality and justice in the world

The Charter of the United Nations (UN) is a criterion of equality and justice in the world, but few Western countries fulfill it. This was announced on March 5 by Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov at a meeting of the MGIMO Board of Trustees.
"I would ask the institutions and our other partners to be very careful about calls to cross out the UN Charter and start writing something new, to set up some processes that no one can control later. The Charter is a criterion of equality, a criterion of justice. Another thing is that few of our Western colleagues performed it," he said.
Lavrov added that new centers of power have appeared in the world, which are involved in reaching agreements on the future. But it must be based on the just principles of the UN Charter. Namely: "non-interference in internal affairs, the right of peoples to self-determination, territorial integrity and human rights."
Earlier, on February 21, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said that despite the ineffectiveness of the UN, to find an alternative to it impossible. He pointed out that the opportunity to create an alternative to an international organization now "objectively does not exist.
