Russia received 771.3 billion rubles of oil and gas revenues in February

Russian oil and gas revenues for February 2025 amounted to 771.3 billion rubles, compared to 789.1 billion in January and 790.2 billion in December 2024. This is stated in the materials of the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation.
As the ministry reported in January, the expected volume of additional oil and gas revenues of the federal budget is projected in February 2025 in the amount of 101.2 billion rubles. At the same time, the basic income level for February amounted to 682.1 billion rubles. Thus, real incomes exceeded the basic income level by 13.5%.
In addition, oil companies in February received payments from the Russian budget for the fuel damper mechanism in the amount of 148.3 billion rubles, against 156.4 billion rubles in January. In December of last year, oil companies received 139.3 billion.
The expected volume of additional oil and gas revenues of the federal budget is projected in March 2025 in the amount of 57.2 billion rubles, the Ministry of Finance said in a statement.
In January, Gazprom Neft and Surgutneftegaz, a number of top managers, more than 30 oilfield service companies, as well as 183 tankers, about 160 of which are oil tankers, fell under restrictions.
At the same time, the Ministry of Finance of the Russian Federation maintains its estimates of the execution of the federal budget in 2025, but does not rule out that the deficit may exceed the target of 0.5% of GDP if current oil prices remain at about $60 per barrel.
"Our estimates for the overall balance have not changed, but they depend on the oil price, the budget includes $70 per barrel, now we see closer to $60, respectively, if this level remains closer to $60, then the deficit will be larger, less than 1% of GDP is more," Vladimir Kolychev, Deputy Finance Minister of the Russian Federation, told reporters.
Stanislav Mitrakhovich, a leading expert at the National Energy Security Foundation and the Financial University under the Government of the Russian Federation, in an interview with Izvestia on January 30 pointed out Europe's interest in Russian gas.
In Europe, there are industrial lobbyists and political forces interested in restoring economic ties with Russia, including trade in energy resources such as gas. However, it is necessary to reach a political compromise for this, the expert noted.
