The court handed down sentences in the case of the terrorist attack in the Kursk region to four soldiers of the 64th separate infantry battalion of the 44th separate mechanized brigade of Armed Formations Of Ukraine (VFU). This was reported on March 5 in the Telegram channel of the Investigative Committee of Russia.

So, the defendants Ivan Furlet, Yuri Zadorozhny, Yuri Sychenko and Yuri Khayuk were sentenced to 17 years in prison.

"Depending on the role of each of them, they were found guilty of committing a terrorist act in the Kursk region ... The court sentenced each of the defendants to imprisonment for a term of 17 years with serving the first four years in prison," the report says.

It is specified that the convicts will spend the rest of their sentences in a high-security penal colony.

According to the investigation, the militants illegally invaded the territory of the Russian Federation in August 2024, where they prevented the evacuation of civilians from the village of Snagost in the Kursk region, as well as occupied private houses and opened fire on the military of the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation and civilians.

The military was detained in September 2024.

The investigation into Furlet, Zadorozhny, Sychenko and Khayuk was completed on January 2. A criminal case was initiated under clauses "a" and "b" of Part 2 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation.
