Trump compared American spending on Ukraine to candy taken from a child

The President USA Donald Trump during a speech to the House of Representatives and the Senate of Congress on March 5 compared government spending on Ukraine with the candy taken from the child.
"We have spent perhaps $350 billion. It's like taking candy away from a child. That's what happened. And the Europeans spent $100 billion. There is a big difference," the American leader said.
At the same time, Trump clarified that Europe had invested $100 billion in the Ukrainian conflict. He called the big difference between the funds spent by the European and American sides.
In addition, the US president criticized former head of state Joe Biden for spending billions of dollars without seeking to end the conflict.
On March 4, the Reuters news agency reported that the White House officially href="https://iz.ru/1848397/2025-03-04/v-belom-dome-podtverdili-ostanovku-voennoi-pomoshchi-ukraine"> We have confirmed the suspension of the United States military assistance to Ukraine. The pause will last until Trump sees how the leaders of the Ukrainian side "demonstrate a good-faith commitment to peace."
The British newspaper The Independent reported on March 5 that without American military assistance, the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) have only enough missile stocks for a few days. It is noted that this means, among other things, that it is possible to block transit cargo to Ukraine.
