The reasons for filing the complaint are not specified.
As reported in "Vedomosti", the artist is challenging the norm of the Civil Code (CC) on the grounds of inheritance. According to the lawyer representing the artist's interests, there is uncertainty in the legislation regarding the use of foreign wills.
Dzhigurda's hereditary dispute is related to the trey apartments in Moscow and one in Paris, which belonged to the artist's girlfriend Lyudmila Bratash, who died in 2016. Dzhigurda and his wife Marina Anisina claimed that Bratash had given the property to them in a will drawn up in France, but in the same year, the deceased's sister Svetlana Romanova initiated a lawsuit claiming that she was the heir, and the court sided with her.
March 18, 2024 Kuntsevsky Court of the capital collected 500 thousand rubles from Dzhigurda and his wife as court costs in favor of Romanova. The Moscow City Court's appeal ruling stated that it was impossible to verify the fact of the disputed will of the testator Bratash in the absence of the original of the specified document.
