- The media learned about the EU's fears of disrupting the summit on Ukraine due to Hungary's position

The European Union (EU) fears disruption of the summit on Ukraine because of Hungary. This was reported on March 5 by the newspaper Politico with reference to sources.
"Diplomats are already preparing for the fact that...> A number of leaders led by the Hungarian [Prime Minister] Viktor Orban will disrupt everything," European diplomats shared with the newspaper.
According to Politico, events at the summit may develop in several directions, as EU leaders will reflect on the rapid redirection of resources to strengthen national defense and at the same time try to demonstrate support for Ukraine. It is noted that it is possible to confirm Kiev's path to membership in the association.
The draft version of the final statement prepared on the eve of the summit states that the European Union is obliged to "continue to provide Ukraine with regular and predictable financial assistance." At the same time, the newspaper's sources noted that Hungary had expressed disagreement on this issue.
The EU summit, which will discuss the conflict in Ukraine and the security of Europe, will be held on Thursday, March 6, in Brussels.
Politico reported on March 3 about Hungary's blocking of the draft EU document on the future support of Kiev. It was noted that the text of the document describes the security guarantees that the bloc can provide to Ukraine.
