The French satellite company Eutelsat is negotiating with the authorities of the European Union (EU) to expand satellite Internet to Ukraine. This was reported on March 4 by Reuters.

"We are actively cooperating with European organizations and business partners to ensure the rapid deployment of additional user terminals for mission—critical tasks and infrastructure," the agency quotes the company as saying.

As reported on March 3 The Economist, citing an anonymous Ukrainian official, the transition to other technologies may prove difficult and deprive the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) of one of their key advantages on the battlefield, in particular due to vulnerability alternative solutions for Internet access in front of Russian electronic warfare systems. Currently, Starlink's communications financing in the Ukrainian state is carried out by Poland, but control over this connection remains with USA.

Low-orbit Eutelsat satellites are already being used in Ukraine to support communications at the government level, she addedhttps://www.gazeta.ru/politics/news/2025/03/04/25234370.shtml " target="_blank">Newspaper.Ru».

On March 4, it was reported that Ukraine is looking for a replacement for Starlink systems in case the United States cuts off access to it. This satellite network, developed by entrepreneur Elon Musk's SpaceX, remains a key communication tool for the Ukrainian troops.
