A local resident was detained in Yekaterinburg for calling for terrorist attacks.


Law enforcement officers in Yekaterinburg detained a local resident born in 2001, who incited the population to commit terrorist acts. This was reported on February 5 by a source of Izvestia in law enforcement agencies.
The detained young man, born in 2001, confessed that while in Georgia, he appealed through social networks to people to set fire to ATMs and throw explosive mixtures (Molotov cocktails) at military units.
According to the established facts, a criminal case has been opened under Part 2 of Article 205.2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Public calls for terrorist activities, justification of terrorism or its propaganda through electronic networks").
It was established that the would-be terrorist uses drugs and psychotropic substances, besides, he already had a criminal record for their possession, having served time in prison. It also follows from his social media profile that he was a fan of Ukrainian terrorist organizations banned in Russia.
Earlier, on March 3, Russian FSB officers neutralized a native of the Central Asian region who was planning terrorist attacks in the subway Moscow, as well as in a synagogue near Moscow. According to the Center for Public Relations of the special service, the militant was a member of an international terrorist organization banned in the territory of the Russian Federation. He was going to commit terrorist attacks using improvised explosive devices (IEDs).
