At the birth of the first child in the Novgorod region, 1 million rubles will be paid starting in 2026.

In the Novgorod region, parents will receive 1 million rubles at the birth of their first child starting next year. This was announced on Tuesday, March 4, by the acting head of the region, Alexander Dronov, during a meeting with the President of Russia Vladimir Putin.

"Starting in 2026, the Novgorod parent, in addition to all federal payments and support measures, will additionally receive 350 thousand rubles for the first child and 800 thousand for the birth of the third and subsequent children. We have invested all the funds and completed this task," said Dronov, the video was posted on his page on the VKontakte social network.

So, in the amount of the federal payment (690 thousand rubles), parents in the region will begin to receive 1 million rubles for the birth of their first child.

Earlier in the day, it was reported that Putin approved the first vice-governor of the Novgorod region, Dronov, as acting head of the region before the elections and held a meeting with him. The head of state, in an interview with him, noted that Dronov's work in office requires "a special attitude to the matter."
