Dozens of rare birds died in one of the rice canals in Adygea

Dozens of rare birds are believed to have died in Adygea due to waste dumping in the Chibiy Canal. This was reported to Izvestia by local residents on Tuesday, March 4.
Originally built in Soviet times, the Chibiy Canal was part of a system of supply channels for rice cultivation.
According to local residents, the nearest village is built up with residential complexes and crowded with people. Sewage disposal vehicles drain sewage directly onto the ground, and sewage treatment plants have not been working for a long time.
Residents consider the incident an "environmental disaster."
Earlier, on January 23, the Minister of Natural Resources and Ecology of the Russian Federation Alexander Kozlov stated that the Russian government will allocate 1.5 billion rubles for reimbursement of expenses to eliminate the consequences of the tanker crash in the Black Sea. He added that Rosprirodnadzor will calculate the damage to nature from the fuel oil spill within about three months and expose it to the perpetrators of pollution in court.
Before that, on January 22, in the Krasnodar Territory, Crimea and Sevastopol new fuel oil emissions have been found. In particular, the oil product appeared along the 8.5 km coastline of the Sea of Azov, in the area of the Kuchuguri tract in the Kuban.
