The participants of the Arab League (LAS) summit on Palestine in their final declaration appealed to the UN Security Council with a request to send peacekeepers to the Gaza Strip and the West Bank of the Jordan River. The March 4 meeting was broadcast by the office of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi on the social network X.
Also, during the emergency summit, the participants unanimously adopted a resolution proposed by Egypt on the reconstruction of the Gaza Strip.
"I ask you to accept the plan for the reconstruction of Gaza and the draft final declaration of our summit," the Egyptian leader said.
Earlier, on February 12, the Egyptian Foreign Ministry announced its intention to submit a plan for the reconstruction of Gaza. It clarifies that Egypt is also ready to cooperate with the president USA Donald Trump, who previously proposed his plan for the reconstruction of Gaza to ensure peace in the region. The ceasefire regime in the Gaza Strip began operating on the morning of January 19. At the same time, the Palestinian movement Hamas handed over three Israeli hostages to representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). The next day Israel released the first 90 Palestinian prisoners as part of the deal. The hostage exchange continues.
