Opening the ceremony, Chairman of the Federation Council Valentina Matvienko stressed that this award is a symbol of respect and appreciation for women from different parts of Russia who, despite all difficulties, sometimes risking their own lives, help others. "This year, all the award winners represent the medical community. With their hard work, talent, and dedication, they create real miracles. Their work is a combination of professionalism, humanity and warmth."

The Federation Council speaker noted that among the laureates are women who, under enemy shelling, rescued the wounded and delivered medicines to frontline cities; ascetics working in remote areas of the Arctic; oncologists who discover new methods of cancer treatment and give hope for recovery to thousands of patients; as well as women who carry out important public work to preserve the memory of doctors who participated in the Great Patriotic War.

"We know that there are many, many thousands of such caring, selfless and truly heroic women in our country. They exist in every region, in every city, in every village. They have always supported our country," Valentina Matvienko emphasized, thanking them for their mercy, willingness to help, and for all their kind and heartfelt deeds.
