The Red Army liberated Brownsburg

The troops of the 3rd Belorussian Front, continuing their battles to destroy the German group in East Prussia, captured the town of Braunsberg on March 20, a powerful stronghold of the enemy's defense, the Izvestia newspaper writes.
"On March 20, at 21:00, the capital of our Motherland, Moscow, on behalf of the Motherland, salutes the valiant troops of the 3rd Belorussian Front, who captured the city of Brownsberg, with 12 artillery volleys from 124 guns," the newspaper says.
There were exactly 50 days left until the Great Victory.
Soviet soldiers also occupied more than 40 other settlements that day, captured the city of Altdamm and eliminated the heavily fortified German bridgehead on the right bank of the Oder River east of Stettin.
The material was published as part of the Izvestia special project "80 days to Victory."
