- The Red Army reached the Frisch-Gaf Bay and divided the East Prussian group of forces

During March 15, the troops of the 3rd Belorussian Front, continuing their offensive, reached the coast of Frisch Gaf Bay and occupied Wangitt, Dumplecrug, Pinnau, Albenen, and Ainsam, the Izvestia newspaper reports.
"The settlement of Heide-Waldburg, located 8 km southwest of Konigsberg, has changed hands several times and is again occupied by our troops. Thus, with access to the coast of Frisch Gaf Bay, our troops dismembered the East Prussian group of German troops into two parts," the publication says.
There were exactly 55 days left until the Great Victory.
In addition, on the night of March 15, our heavy bombers attacked the railway junction and Veszprem airfield in Hungary. The bombing was followed by fire and explosions.
The material was published as part of the Izvestia special project "80 days to Victory."
