The economist recalled the upcoming indexation of tariffs for housing and communal services

The indexation of tariffs for housing and communal services (HCS) awaits Russians in July 2025. Natalia Kazantseva, Associate Professor of the Department of Economic Policy and Economic Measurements at the State University of Management, warned about this on Tuesday, March 4.

"Tariff increases are expected to be uneven across individual types of resources and across individual regions. In remote Russian regions, it will be slightly more than 4%, while in others it may reach 15%," the specialist quotes Lenta.Ru .

She noted that the tariff increase is one of the links in the implementation of housing and communal services reform.

Kazantseva added that along with this, the system of social support for certain categories of citizens in the issue of compensation for housing costs should be improved.

"Housing and communal services account for a significant share of total consumer spending, and their increase is particularly sensitive for the poor. The simplified housing subsidy system introduced not so long ago will facilitate the process of obtaining benefits for housing and communal services," the expert concluded.
