The REO reminded about the possibility of volunteers to receive USE points for participating in eco-actions

Participation in environmental actions and events organized with the support of the Russian Environmental Operator (REO) will be counted as volunteer hours that can be used to accumulate points for admission to universities, Denis Butsaev, CEO of REO, told Izvestia.

"According to the law on volunteerism, additional USE points for admission to higher education institutions can be obtained for volunteering. For example, if you participated in events supported by the REO and registered for "Dobro.In the Russian Federation, you can accumulate more volunteer hours needed to earn points," Butsaev said.

He noted that in this way, future applicants will not only increase their chance of entering a university, but also contribute to environmental protection, the reform of the waste management industry and the formation of a closed-loop economy in the country.

To get additional points for the Unified State Exam for volunteering, you need to attach an extract from the volunteer's personal e-book to the admission documents. At least 20 hours of experience must be recorded in it. Then you need to link a verified account on Gosuslugi with a profile on the Dobro.rf platform. After that, apply to the university online through Gosuslugi. Information about the volunteer activity will be transmitted automatically. Depending on the university, you can get from one to 10 additional points for volunteering.

Earlier, on January 26, it was reported that Russian universities, in accordance with the order of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation, announced changes in the admission campaign for the 2025-2026 academic year. According to TASS, in almost all surveyed universities the number of budget and paid places has increased. Thus, the number of places at the RANEPA for full—time bachelor's, specialist's and master's degree programs increased by 11%, at the Plekhanov Russian University of Economics — by 18%, and at the Higher School of Economics - by 4.1%. RUDN University has allocated the most budget places in the fields of exact, technical and natural sciences.
