A significant part of Tokyo was destroyed after the strikes of 300 American super-powerful bombers, Izvestia reports.

"The headquarters of the 20th American Bomber Aviation Unit reports that on March 10, more than 300 American heavy-duty Flying Fortress bombers raided industrial facilities in Tokyo. More than a thousand tons of bombs were dropped on the city," the newspaper reported on March 10, 1945.

There were exactly 60 days left until the Great Victory.

According to the Reuters news agency, referring to the headquarters of the joint command of the Allied armed forces in the southwestern Pacific Ocean, on the island of Luzon, American troops broke through the Japanese defense line east of Manila.
