Experts named the most popular cars among Russians

BMW X2 is the leader among business class cars (out of the total number of motorists who insured this model, the absolute majority — 80% — are women), Mazda CX-30 (78%), Audi Q3 (78%), Mercedes-Benz GLB (73%) and Lexus NX (71%). The top 10 also includes the Volvo XC40 (69%), BMW X4 (68%), BMW 2-series (66%), Mercedes-Benz GLC (65%) and Mitsubishi Eclipse Cross (64%).
Among the mass—produced cars are Kia Picanto (79%) and Kia Soul (62%).
The Hyundai Creta turned out to be the most gender-neutral model — it is equally popular with both women and men: owners of both sexes account for 50% of insurance.
Experts have also found that crossovers and SUVs are popular with women. Although they are driven primarily by men (they account for the vast majority of insurance coverage for each model under consideration), for more than half of the models, the proportion of female owners is a noticeable 20% or more.
The top five most popular crossovers and SUVs among Russians are Haval H9 (they account for 23% of insurance), Skoda Kodiaq (22%), Lexus LX (22%), Volkswagen Touareg (22%), Volkswagen Teramont (22%) and BMW X7 (21%).
Earlier, on February 27, Sergey Tselikov, director of the Autostat analytical agency, said that in Russia a historical record of sales of new pickups for the year has been recorded. Last year, 29.2 thousand such vehicles were sold in the country, with an annual increase of 65%.
