The cancer vaccine against colorectal cancer, created by experts from the Federal Medical and Biological Agency (FMBA) of Russia, may begin to be used in 2025. This was announced on March 4 by the head of the FMBA Veronika Skvortsova.

"Due to the fact that last year the law on the use of personalized medicines was adopted, developed on the initiative of the agency, starting this year it is possible to use a vaccine against colorectal cancer in a patient," she said during a speech at the Women for a Healthy Society forum.

According to Skvortsova, the cancer vaccine will not be able to replace existing methods of treating diseases, but it will be a good addition.

At the forum "Women for a Healthy Society", the head of the FMBA also reported href="https://iz.ru/1848596/2025-03-04/v-fmba-zavershili-doklinicheskoe-issledovanie-protivoopukholevogo-preparata " target="_blank">on completion of preclinical studies of antitumor genetically engineered drug for oncological diseases. Skvortsova clarified that the drug carries two protoxin genes that are activated in tumor cells and trigger their death mechanisms.
