The investigative authorities of the Moscow region have opened a criminal case after poisoning three children with an unknown substance in Volokolamsk. This was announced on March 4 by the main investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation for the region in the Telegram channel.

"According to the results of a preliminary investigation by the investigator of the GSU of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Moscow region, a criminal case has been opened against minors (Article 238 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation)," the statement said.

It is specified that investigators and criminologists will inspect the scene, according to the results of which special examinations will be appointed.

Earlier that day, the Main Directorate of the Investigative Committee for the region reported on the Telegram channel that in Volokolamsk, three minors aged eight to 17 years old, while in an apartment, suddenly felt unwell and lost consciousness. They were hospitalized.

The Izvestia source reported that the version of a gas leak is being considered.
