The Central Bank of the Russian Federation is preparing measures to combat fraudulent software. This was announced on March 4 by Deputy Chairman of the Central Bank German Zubarev at a joint meeting of the Council for the Development of the digital economy and the Council for the Development of the financial market at the Federation Council.

He noted that attackers are now actively using schemes to install virus programs on victims' phones. Further, malware can provide fraudsters with remote access to the device, allowing, for example, to log into an online bank secretly from the user.

"We are now promptly preparing appropriate measures [to combat malware], including those of a technological nature," Zubarev quotes RIA Novosti.

At the same time, Zubarev expressed the hope that the banks would support the efforts of the regulator. In addition, according to him, the help of legislators may be required if the issue cannot be resolved within the framework of industry rules.

Earlier, on March 2, the head of the Roskachestvo Digital Expertise Center, Sergey Kuzmenko, said that fraudsters began to use the unsubscribe button in an email for their own purposes — clicking on it can lead to a phishing site. At the same time, according to the specialist, mail services are doing everything possible to protect users, including scanning attachments and filtering links.
