A child drowned in a pond near Pskov

In the Velikiye Luki district of the Pskov region, an eight-year-old girl drowned in a pond. The SU TFR for the region is conducting an audit.

As specified by Pskov news feed, information about the discovery of a child's body in an artificial pond on the territory of a private house in the village of Trubichino was received by law enforcement agencies on March 3.

The investigation established that the deceased was a girl who had disappeared the day before and lived in a neighboring house. The body of the missing woman was found under the broken ice surface of the pond.

A forensic medical examination has been appointed, and the circumstances of the incident are being established. Based on the results of the audit, a decision will be made to initiate a case.

Earlier, on February 7, in the urban-type settlement of Okhotsk, Khabarovsk Territory, two children aged five and seven fell through the ice of a reservoir to cool the power plant and drowned. The children were playing near a pond, but then decided to go out on the ice and fell through. A criminal case has been opened.
