A court in the Luhansk People's Republic (LNR) sentenced a citizen Ukraine to 10 years in prison for financing the Ukrainian nationalist groups Azov and Right Sector (recognized as terrorist, banned in the Russian Federation). This was reported on March 4 in the SU of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia for the republic.
It was established that the woman made at least 10 money transfers to the accounts of national battalions from January to April 2024. Her activities were revealed by the FSB of Russia for the LPR and the FSB of Russia for the Federal Service of the National Guard of the Russian Federation. She was detained in the Starobilsk district of the LPR.
"She was found guilty of committing crimes under Part 1.1 of Article 205.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Financing of terrorism") and Part 1 of Article 282.3 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Financing extremist activities")," the agency said in a statement on its Telegram channel.
The woman will serve her sentence in a correctional colony of general regime.
On the eve of March 3, the chairman of the Investigative Committee of the Russian Federation, Alexander Bastrykin, announced that in Russia for crimes against civilians in Donbas more than 140 participants of Azov have already been convicted. In total, the investigation of 423 criminal cases initiated against 566 Ukrainian military and mercenaries has been completed.
