About 20 thousand km of roads near Moscow were treated for ice

In the Moscow region, on the night of March 4, road services treated about 9.5 thousand km of regional and about 10.5 thousand km of municipal roads from ice. Such data is provided by the regional Ministry of Transport and Road Infrastructure. The work was carried out by more than 670 units of road equipment.

According to experts, positive temperatures are expected in the Moscow Region on Tuesday, March 4, with snow and rain possible. In this regard, drivers should be careful on the roads, keep their distance while driving, writes online publication "Podmoskovye segodnya".

The road services are constantly monitoring weather conditions in order to promptly carry out work to ensure traffic safety, the department said.

Earlier it was reported that turn direction signs will appear on 485 potentially dangerous sections of roads in the Moscow region in 2025. The work will be carried out within the framework of the national project "Infrastructure for Life". Signs on the roads are necessary to alert motorists about the direction of a turn in areas with poor visibility, where the driver may not see the bend of the highway.
