The American forward of the KHL club Amur Galchenyuk received a Russian passport

Sergey Abramov, First Deputy Chairman of the Khabarovsk Territory Government and Chairman of the Amur Board of Trustees, noted that citizenship would benefit both athletes and Russian hockey.
"We've talked a lot with Alexander this season, and I can say that in spirit, in mentality, he's our Russian guy," the team's Telegram channel quotes him as saying.
Abramov also wished Galchenyuk a speedy recovery from injury.
On the eve of the Brazilian defender of Zenit St. Petersburg football club Douglas Santos, who received a Russian passport in 2024, href="https://iz.ru/1848090/2025-03-03/futbolist-zenita-santos-voshel-v-rasshirennyi-sostav-sbornoi-rossii " target="_blank">joined the extended Russian national team for the March training camp for the first time.
