Italy has no plans to send its troops to Ukraine. This was announced on March 4 by the country's Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni.

"We have stated that we will not send Italian soldiers to Ukraine," she said on the TV channel Rai1.

Meloni criticized the initiative of Great Britain and France to deploy a contingent of European troops and refused to participate in it, expressing doubts about its effectiveness. In her opinion, the most important task for European leaders should be to create conditions for a just and sustainable peace, including security guarantees for Ukraine.

On March 3, British Prime Minister Keir Starmer announced that the country advocates sending troops to Ukraine. In addition, he said that Europe would continue to supply weapons to Kiev "after peace is achieved."
