AvtoVAZ launches sales of Lada Vesta with new transmission

Sales of Lada Vesta family cars with a new six-speed manual transmission (KP) have begun in Russia. The starting price of a sedan with such a transmission is 1.8 million rubles, AvtoVAZ said in a statement received by Izvestia on March 4.

The new manual transmission is aggregated with a 122hp 1.8 Evo engine and is installed on all modifications of the Vesta family (sedan, station wagon and Cross versions). The company said that the specialists selected the gear ratios in such a way that the car moved confidently and economically, accelerated dynamically and elastically. The transmission is designed to transmit torque up to 220 Nm.

The new modification has increased the maximum speed (up to 187-189 km/ h, depending on the body type), and the acceleration time to 100 km/ h has become the best in the Vesta family and is 10.6 seconds. A gearshift prompt is provided in the instrument cluster. The new transmission is available starting with the Enjoy package. Simultaneously with the launch of the six-speed mechanics, heated rear seat cushions returned to Lada Vesta, an option available in the Enjoy and Techno versions.

Now the range of Vesta powertrains has increased to four versions. In addition to the new 1.8 Evo engine and six-speed mechanics, the 1.6 engine and five-speed mechanics (from 1.53 million rubles), 1.6 engine and automatic (from 1.58 million rubles) and 1.8 Evo engine with automatic (from 1.8 million rubles) are installed on the cars.

Earlier in the day, it was reported that in February 2025, 26.7 thousand new Lada passenger cars and light commercial vehicles were sold in Russia. This is 28.4% more than in January of this year. Compared to February 2024, sales figures decreased by 4%.

The day before, the head of AVTOVAZ, Maxim Sokolov, announced that the start of mass production of cars of the new Lada Iskra family will take place on April 19, 2025, exactly 55 years after the release of the first VAZ-2101 car. In June 2025, the company will hold the world premiere of a new crossover based on the Vesta platform.
