- St. Petersburg has become one of the leaders in introducing robots into the business

St. Petersburg has become one of the leading cities in the use of robots in the service sector. According to RoboJobs, which cites "Business Petersburg", in 2024, 240 companies in the country developed, manufactured and integrated robots into their work. 63 of them are registered in the Northern Capital. The companies used robots for warehouse logistics, diagnostics, monitoring, entertainment and sports, in the field of medicine, construction and repair.
In particular, at the end of February, robots began cleaning and disinfecting check-in halls and arrival terminals at Pulkovo Airport. They were developed by Waybot Robotics. Automata have computer vision systems and artificial intelligence. In one charging cycle, the robot is able to process up to 5,000 square meters, cleaning about 1,500 square meters per hour.
Earlier, in 2022, SDEK opened a sorting center on Sofiyskaya Street, which was equipped with the country's first robotic sorting system. This system uses 95 robots to process up to 60,000 shipments per day. The devices operate on an area of about 1.5 thousand square meters, which is much smaller than the area of conventional sorting lines, the TV channel clarifies href="https://78.ru/news/2025-03-04/peterburg-yavlyaetsya-odnim-iz-liderov-po-vnedreniyu-v-biznesprocessi-robotov " target="_blank">"78".
