Often the prerequisites for an accident are inattention and disregard for the rules of the road, which are allowed by bus and truck drivers, the department noted. The ministry urged not to create emergency situations on the road and to abandon risky driving, overtaking and other dangerous maneuvers. The ministry stressed that the lives of other road users depend on driving skills, driving experience, well—being and law-abiding driving behavior, and in the case of passenger transportation by buses, the lives and health of passengers of public and intercity vehicles.

Special care should be taken by people driving when passing intersections and approaching pedestrian crossings. Always slow down in front of them until you come to a complete stop to let pedestrians cross the roadway. Also remember that the behavior of children and the elderly on the road is very often unpredictable, so do not rush to resume traffic, even if the traffic light allows you to do so, until you are sure that the crossing is completely free of pedestrians," the deputy head of the Department for road Safety Promotion and prevention of child traffic injuries told Izvestia.
