As part of the business program of the International Arctic Forum "The Arctic – the Territory of Dialogue" (IAF), which will be held on March 26-27 in Murmansk, the key results of the VIII International Scientific and Practical Conference "The Universe of the Polar Bear: effective cooperation in the Arctic" will be presented.

During the IAF thematic session, experts will discuss topics such as the conservation of Arctic biodiversity in the context of active socio-economic development of the Arctic, the introduction of environmental principles and technological standards in the Northern Sea Route, monitoring of permafrost and unique Arctic ecosystems, as well as tourism in the Far North. The Forum is organized by the Roscongress Foundation with the support of the Government of the Russian Federation.

"The development of the Arctic is one of Russia's key priorities. The region has great prospects in terms of influencing the global economy, logistics and energy. At the same time, the active development of the Far North requires special attention to the preservation of the unique ecosystem of the Arctic and the support of indigenous peoples. Russia's scientific achievements ensure economic growth with a responsible attitude towards this territory. An important part of the business program of the International Arctic Forum will be the discussion of research results contributing to the sustainable development of the northern latitudes," said Anton Kobyakov, Adviser to the President of the Russian Federation and Executive Secretary of the IAF–2025 Organizing Committee.

The conference "The Universe of the Polar Bear: Effective Cooperation in the Arctic" will be held on March 18-21 at venues in Moscow, Anadyr, St. Petersburg and Yakutsk, and a teleconference for the Arctic regions will also be organized. The program will include 25 sessions with the participation of representatives of federal and regional authorities, business and science. The event will include a meeting of the Presidium of the Scientific and Expert Council of the State Commission for the Development of the Arctic and the III All-Russian Arctic Youth Forum. The conference is organized by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of Russia and the Government of the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug.

"In 2025, the conference will be held under the auspices of the International Arctic Forum. The list of topics under consideration has been significantly expanded. In addition to the traditional discussion of best practices in the study and conservation of polar bears and other Arctic mammals, the program will include issues of socio-economic development of the Arctic, digitalization of scientific and technical activities in the region, attracting young scientists to work in the Far North, the development of volunteer movements and other areas. I am confident that the results of the expert discussion at the conference will organically complement the IAF program and contribute to the sustainable development of the Arctic," said Vladislav Kuznetsov, Governor of the Chukotka Autonomous Okrug.

The VI International Arctic Forum "The Arctic – the Territory of Dialogue" is a key platform for discussing topical issues of socio-economic development of the Arctic territories, developing multi-level multilateral mechanisms for joint disclosure and effective development of the powerful resource potential of the Arctic region.
