The spring allergy season may start earlier this year — as early as April, patients may experience symptoms. This was announced on March 4 by Natalia Ilyina, MD, Professor, Deputy Director for Clinical Work, Chief Physician of the SSC Institute of Immunology of the FMBA of Russia, First Vice President, General Director of the Russian Association of Allergologists and Clinical Immunologists (RAAKI), at the Izvestia Press Center at a conference on "Early flowering: how to prepare for allergy season?".

"Maybe this year [the season] will start earlier. "...It will largely depend on what March will be like and when the temperature will be positive," she said.

According to her, allergies are most affected by the degree of pollen saturation in the air.
