Alexander Klebanov, the former Minister of Transport of Bashkortostan, has died. His lawyer Gevorg Kandilyan informed Izvestia about this on March 4.
"Alexander Vladimirovich died last night in Moscow," he said.
The former head of the Bashkir Ministry of Transport was under house arrest. In May 2024, he was detained. He was accused of bribery on a particularly large scale in the allocation of contracts for the repair of roads in the republic.
According to investigators, in May 2023, as a member of the Board of Directors of Bashkinavtodor JSC, he demanded 5 million rubles from the management of Qiwi LLC for speeding up payment under contracts.
In October of last year Klebanov pleaded guilty to the crime and actively assisted the investigation.
