Russia must be in a security system that includes the West. This was announced on March 3 by Major General USA retired, Chairman of the Stand Up U.S. Foundation Paul Vallely.

"Russia must be included in a security system that includes the West. Russia cannot be taken beyond the framework of such constructions," he said in an interview with the radio station Galey Israel.

He also mentioned India and other BRICS countries as states with which it is necessary to cooperate. According to him, it is necessary to consider their interests "in order to prevent global conflicts."

Vallely expressed the opinion that the US president Donald Trump may lift some of the sanctions and try to be active in the alliance of Washington, Beijing and Moscow. At the same time, the Major General expects that the interests of the Russian Federation will be taken into account in the process of updating the European security architecture.

In addition, Vallely predicted an improvement in relations between Russia and European countries, since "the peoples of France, Germany and Great Britain are tired of the Euro-Atlantic course of their authorities."

"I think a lot depends on the peoples of Europe. It depends on who will lead them. I think that future European leaders may significantly reconsider their vision of support Ukraine," he added.

On March 3, Reuters reported that the White House is studying plans for a possible lifting of sanctions from the Russian Federation. The weakening of restrictions is also being considered. At the same time, it is still unclear which restrictions the US administration will consider first to lift.
