A resident of Kamchatka gave 1.5 million rubles to fraudsters

The police in the Kamchatka Territory are conducting an investigation into fraud, as a result of which a 55-year-old woman was injured. She lost 1.5 million rubles.

According to the victim, she received calls from strangers who introduced themselves as employees of various organizations. During the conversations, the woman provided her passport details. Soon, one of the scammers said that the woman's savings were allegedly under threat, they should be transferred to a "safe" account. This is reported by IA KamchatkaMedia.

The communication lasted about three months. Fearing to lose money, the woman issued a credit card and more than 100 phone numbers. In addition, the fraudsters registered the victim as an individual entrepreneur and took out a loan for her. The total damage amounted to 1.5 million rubles.

The criminal case was initiated under Part 4 of Article 159 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Fraud").

In St. Petersburg from the actions of scammers a 90-year-old pensioner was injured. The scammers convinced the woman to transfer 4 million rubles to the courier.
