The Ukrainian prisoner told about bribes to the commander for service in the rear

Commander of one of the units of the Armed Forces Ukraine (AFU) demanded a bribe of $15,000 from soldiers for the opportunity to remain in the rear. This was stated on March 4 by Alexander Klimenko, a captured serviceman of the 22nd separate mechanized brigade of the Ukrainian army, on video footage provided by the Russian Ministry of Defense.
The man was detained for delivery to the military enlistment office while walking with the children. After a quick medical examination, Klimenko paid the military commissar $ 5,000 to get into the rear unit. However, another bribe was demanded from the military in the unit.
"Our captain came and said: a telegram has arrived, <...> 22 or 23 people from our battalion are needed [to be sent to a combat unit]. "... There was an opportunity to refuse, not to go to the front line. I should have paid the captain $15,000 and continued my service, sitting in the rear," said the prisoner.
According to Klimenko, he was later sent to the Kursk region with a machine gun and four grenades.
"We were dropped off at the beginning of the landing. I say, what should we do next? Well, they told us... to dig a trench, like I'd report and they'd come and change us. ...Let's dig in, dig out the dugout, and they'll take us away," he said.
Prior to that, on February 28, the Ministry of Defense published footage of a Ukrainian prisoner of war, Sergei Baranyuk, who spoke about what was happening in Ukraine href="https://iz.ru/1846496/2025-02-28/plennyi-boevik-vsu-soobshchil-o-mobilizatcii-v-riady-vsu-cheloveka-s-opukholiu"> a man with a malignant tumor was mobilized. According to him, Kiev is forcing everyone to mobilize, even those who cannot perform combat missions.
