The calculation of MLRS BM-21 "Grad" hit the location of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Kherson region

The calculation of the BM-21 Grad MLRS of the Russian Armed Forces struck at the temporary deployment point of the Armed Forces Ukraine (Ukrainian Armed Forces) in the Kherson region. This was announced on March 4 by the press service of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation.

"Data from a reconnaissance UAV (Unmanned aerial vehicle. — Ed.) about the location of a large number of Ukrainian militants, weapons and equipment were promptly transferred to the artillery control center. The BM-21 Grad crew of the separate coastal defense brigade arrived in the area of combat use within a few minutes," the military department said.

Upon arrival, the crew quickly transferred the gun from a marching position to a combat position, and then aimed at the target. First, the gunners fired three sighting shots, after which, with adjusted fire, they sent a full package of 122mm caliber to the designated coordinates.

"Tasks are about managing everything, that is, calculating actions. In this case, we are fighting with one, maximum two vehicles, as there is a high risk of the enemy hitting us with UAVs," said the platoon commander with the call sign Ladoga.

In turn, the Defense Ministry stressed that the indication of targets and the adjustment of artillery fire are carried out using a Russian-made reconnaissance drone ZALA. It also allows you to transmit data on the results of fire damage to targets in real time to firing positions.

A day earlier, the UAV operator destroyed Leopard tank of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Red Army area of the special operation zone. Due to accurate hits, the tank lost oil and was unable to move. Then, the operator, together with the calculations of the UAV of the neighboring unit, managed to strike the tank several more times and destroy it.
