The official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharva, commented on the scandal with an apology for singing the song "Katyusha" in Hebrew during the Martsishor festival in Moldova. She posted the corresponding post on the Telegram channel on March 3.

"Do I understand correctly that the Israeli musicians ... apologized for the song based on the music of Matthew Blanter? The one that became one of the world symbols of the fight against Nazism? What else can we expect from the Romanian government of Moldova?" the diplomat asked.Zakharova also recalled the case when Tatiana Navka and Andrei Burkovsky were accused of "mistreating the memory of the tragedy of the Jewish people" because of their performance in figure skating.

"To those who forbid Katusha, I would like to say: people died under this song, fought for life and freedom from the brown plague. Including for the life and freedom of those who apologize today and those who demand to apologize," she concluded.

In February, former Moldovan president Igor Dodon заявил about the impossibility of legally closing the Russian House in Chisinau. As he clarified, it is almost impossible to legally close the Russian House. According to him, the current Moldovan authorities are basically incompetent in their approach to international documents.
