Tulips and roses are in the greatest demand before March 8, orchids and bulbous flowers are also popular. This was told to Izvestia in flower sales services.

Mono-bouquets are in the greatest demand on March 8: they are purchased three times more often than original compositions of several types of flowers, said Vera Modenova, operating director of the Flowwow flower and gift marketplace.

"This can be explained by the popularity of tulips, which are usually sold in monobooks. French roses, peony—shaped roses, hydrangeas and alstroemeria are among the most sought-after flowers now. Bouquets with irises and carnations (also known as dianthuses) are consistently popular. During the festive periods, as a rule, classic roses and their combinations with seasonal flowers are in the lead," she said.

Also, according to her, sales of alternative bouquets, including dried flowers and potted plants, are increasing.

The average receipt for a bouquet of flowers before March 8 will be 4 thousand rubles in Russia and about 5 thousand in Moscow, according to the analytical center "Check Index" of the company "Platform OFD".

Traditionally, bouquets of roses, tulips and gypsophila are at the top in terms of sales before March 8, according to Avito data. Rounding out the top five are bouquets of chrysanthemums and long-lasting bouquets of dried flowers.

"If we compare flower sales over the past ten days with the same period last year, sales of orchids, eustomias and hydrangeas have grown the most, this is the trend of the current season," the service noted.

In addition, bulbous plants in various containers, such as hyacinths, which bloom gradually, are popular this year, added Anastasia Novozhenina, founder of the Enso Flowers project.
