A married couple suspected of murder in the Leningrad region has been detained.


"In the near future, the defendants will be taken to St. Petersburg for transfer to investigative authorities and further investigation of the criminal case on the grounds of a crime under Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Murder". — Ed.)," she said.
The investigation established that on February 26, in a rented apartment on Aviatorov Baltiki Street in the city of Murino, Leningrad region, a married couple killed their acquaintance. To conceal the crime, his body was dismembered, packed in two suitcases and left on the banks of the Neva River. Subsequently, they were found by a random passerby.
On March 1, a case was initiated in St. Petersburg a criminal case on the discovery of human remains in suitcases. A complex of forensic examinations, including medical examinations, was appointed to determine the cause of death.
