The UK supports sending its troops to Ukraine. This was announced on March 3 by the country's Prime Minister Keir Starmer.

"Britain will play a leading role, if necessary, along with others in sending ground troops and aircraft into the skies (of Ukraine — Ed.)," he said during a speech to parliament, broadcast by the newspaper href="https://www.theguardian.com/politics/live/2025/mar/03/peter-mandelson-ukraine-donald-trump-volodymyr-zelenskyy-keir-starmer-uk-politics-live " target="_blank">The Guardian.

Starmer stressed that the successful implementation of such missions requires strong support from USA. He also added that in the new conditions, European states should actively develop their military capabilities and coordination, as well as increase defense spending.

In addition, he said that Europe will continue to supply weapons to Ukraine "after peace is achieved."

"We have agreed that in the event of a peace agreement, we will continue to strengthen Ukraine's defense capability and deterrence," the prime minister said.

On March 2, Starmer announced that the United Kingdom will additionally allocate more than $2 billion to Ukraine for military procurement. According to him, the country is going to put the Ukrainian state in a strong position so that it can negotiate from a "position of strength."
