On the eve of International Women's Day, Russians have increased spending on cosmetics and beauty salon visits. The amounts allocated for these purposes increased by 20% and 17% compared to the same period in 2024, while average receipts increased by 5% (884 rubles) and 9% (1,368 rubles), respectively. This follows from the data of the Post Bank, which was reviewed by Izvestia on March 5.

Russians are also 9% more likely to visit massage parlors, spas, and health clubs. At the same time, the volume of expenses increased by 14%, and the average bill — by 12%, to 1995 rubles.

According to the credit institution, this is due to the desire of Russians to plan visits to beauty salons and anti-aging procedures for the pre-holiday period. At the same time, there is a seasonal surge in the cost of decorative cosmetics, shampoos, masks and other care products.

Earlier, on March 1, it was reported that 46% of the women surveyed named money or certificates to their favorite stores, salons and clinics as the most profitable gift. Another 25% preferred expensive jewelry, designer items, niche perfumes and other luxury items. Courses, subscriptions to useful services and business books interested 17% of respondents, while appliances and household appliances scored only 12% of the votes, according to the results of a study by the financial marketplace .
