Blinovskaya's parents and lawyer called the blogger's sentence cruel.

The parents of blogger Elena Blinovsky, Nina and Oleg Ostanin, after the court sentenced their daughter, told Izvestia on March 3 that they could not argue with the judges' decision, but the process, in their opinion, turned out to be very tough.

"That is, the person was simply torn to pieces, and you don't seem to understand this," Ostanina said.

Father Blinovsky, when asked if he considered the court's decision cruel and who the children of the "queen of telethons" would be with while she was in prison, replied that "it should be decided by the court."

The convict's lawyer, Natalia Salnikova, agreed that the sentence of five years in prison was unexpected for her and Blinovskaya herself.

"In my opinion, [the sentence] is harsh. <..."We need time for us to make a decision and understand whether we will appeal it at all," said the defender.

Earlier on March 3, a correspondent of Izvestia from the hall of the Savelovsky District Court Moscow reported that blogger Blinovskaya was sentenced to five years in prison in a general regime colony in a case of tax evasion, money laundering and illegal circulation of funds payments. The marathon queen was also fined 1 million rubles and banned from engaging in certain activities for four years. In addition, 587 million rubles were recovered from Blinovskaya at the request of the prosecutor's office.

Blinovskaya was detained in April 2023 on suspicion of fraud for the purpose of non-payment of taxes. She was under house arrest for about a year. RF IC completed the investigation of the blogger on July 25, 2024. On August 30th, she partially admitted guilt of tax evasion.

Later, in November 2024, the blogger declared bankrupt, after which the court began selling her property. Then, on February 26, 2025, the court seized accounts and property of Blinovskaya's spouse in the case of her own bankruptcy. In particular, 26 plots of land, three apartments in Moscow, various equipment, weapons, as well as shares in eight companies were arrested. Back in the summer of 2024, the court filed a lawsuit declaring Alexey Blinovsky bankrupt, but on February 26 this case has been suspended.
