The State Traffic Inspectorate urged motorists to observe traffic regulations and driving discipline. For safety reasons, drivers need to abandon risky driving habits, especially in bad weather, disregard for the established speed limit and perform dangerous maneuvers, which often create the prerequisites for an accident with serious consequences. The ministry stressed that the lives and health of the most vulnerable category of road users, children, also depend on driving skills, driving experience, well—being and law-abiding driving behavior.
"We remind motorists that the life and health of their passengers depend entirely on the skills, driving experience, well-being and law-abiding behavior on the road of the person behind the wheel. Always leave yourself plenty of time to react adequately to a possible change in the traffic situation at any moment. We also draw the attention of drivers to the strict observance of the rules for transporting children. Take care of your young passengers, preventing even the prerequisites for a possible tragedy," Police Colonel Anton Belan, deputy head of the Department for Road Safety Promotion and prevention of child traffic injuries at the State Traffic Inspectorate of the Russian Interior Ministry, told Izvestia.
