The Russian leadership and Turkey maintains an active dialogue, so relations between the two countries have not cooled down, but continue to develop in different directions. This was announced on March 3 by Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov.

"The relationship between Moscow and Ankara have very multifaceted relations, they continue to develop, and an intensive dialogue is underway. "... Therefore, there is no need to talk about a shortage of high—level contacts," said the press secretary of the President of the Russian Federation at a briefing.

Peskov recalled that only last week there were contacts with the Turkish side at the level of foreign ministers, and Chairman of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko also paid an official visit to Istanbul.

"There is a dialogue at the working, expert level, this dialogue has not stopped and does not stop, and if necessary, there will be contacts at the highest level. Our relations are so close and working that all necessary contacts are coordinated in a matter of hours," the Kremlin representative said.

Earlier, on February 27, Matvienko, arriving in Istanbul as part of the official visit of the Russian delegation, handed over to Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan href="https://iz.ru/1846254/2025-02-27/matvienko-peredala-erdoganu-ustnoe-poslanie-ot-putina-o-dvustoronnikh-otnosheniiakh " target="_blank">oral message from the Russian leader Vladimir Putin on bilateral relations and the international agenda. She also told the Turkish President about her contacts with representatives of the Turkish parliament and the agreement reached on working together to promote the implementation of the decisions taken by the Presidents.

On the same day in Istanbul negotiations took place between the Russian and American delegations on the issue of the embassies' work. The meeting lasted more than six hours. Russian Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Maria Zakharova said Russia expects that negotiations and further expert consultations will contribute to href="https://iz.ru/1846048/2025-02-27/v-mid-rf-vyrazili-nadezhdu-na-ukreplenie-doveriia-s-ssha-na-peregovorakh-v-stambule " target="_blank">building trust between Moscow and Washington.
